By Plain:

Mashhad International Airport (MHD).

Drive 19 km to the city center.

When to Visit

Mashhad is the most spiritual and one of the most key religious spot for Shi’a of Persia, so it is better to manage your trip not to be synced with Shi’a religious events during the period of your travel. Mashhad climate is gentle in the centre and cool in north, so the favourable time to arrange your trip would be the middle of March to the end of June and the end of September to the middle of November.

How to Visit

Dedicate one full day of your trip to Imam Reza Holy shrine to experience the spirituality of the atmosphere and discover the architectural masterworks to have a better understanding of Shi’a religion, then plan another day to Nishapur to have a visit of Persian great poets and gem mines, after that arrange your next day to take an excursion to Toos ancient city to touch the most influential poet of all Persian history.
